Fresh Food Resource Center

The Fresh Food Resource Center grew out of the Fruit and Veggie Connect pilot, which began in 2021 to share fresh produce from the Children’s Mercy Community Garden with families in local home-visiting programs. While that pilot has wrapped up, the heart of the work remains the same: helping families get easier access to fresh, healthy foods.

This updated resource hub brings together tools, recipes, and guidance to help families across the Kansas City Metro Area access and enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables. By offering simple nutrition resources, garden-based learning ideas, and produce-focused supports, the Fresh Food Resource Center continues our commitment to helping families build healthy habits and thrive.
